Jace Kaiser is a man without a country, without connection. His only loyalty is to the group who saved him, and the man who leads them. Until her… The assignment should have been easy. Capture a deadly assassin and take her to HQ. But flawed intel leads to disaster, and Jace abducts a beautiful art appraiser instead. Intrigued by her courage, he’s drawn to her in ways he can’t explain. Dr. Madeline Cole stood up to him, fought for her identity, and never backed down. She’s the kind of woman he could fall for if it wasn’t so dangerous—for her. Then Maddy is targeted for elimination because she’s the sole person who can identify the mysterious female assassin—and the only thing standing between her and certain death is the sexy mercenary who swears he’ll die before he lets anything happen to her. As the passion between them ignites, it seems clear that keeping Maddy safe has become the most important assignment of Jace’s life. Even then, protecting her might not be enough—because Jace has secrets that could destroy them both. And someone is determined to unmask them all…

A stunning thriller that predicted the National Security Agency scandal. "Brad Thor is as current as tomorrow’s headlines." —Dan Brown #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor returns with his most explosive thriller ever. Somewhere deep inside the United States government is a closely guarded list. Members of Congress never get to see it—only the President and a secret team of advisers. Once your name is on the list, it doesn’t come off . . . until you’re dead. Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath’s name. Somehow Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has targeted him and why they want him out of the way. Somewhere, someone, somehow can put all the pieces together. The only question is, will Harvath get to that person before the United States suffers the most withering terrorist attack ever conceived? An intense, page-turning novel that is action-packed and frighteningly real, Black List blurs the line between fiction and reality and once again reaffirms why Brad Thor "is arguably the best thriller writer of our time" (Suspense Magazine) and "America’s favorite author" (KTTX).

The last time the United States looked on its own citizens with suspicion, the results were ruined dreams, shattered lives...and murderin Jerry Ludwig's Blacklist Today, people point fingers and shout, "terrorist!" Not long ago, the accusation was "Communist!" Many who testified before the House UnAmerican Activities Committee said they did so out of desperation and fear. Those who refused to speak were fired or blacklisted. Others fled rather than betray friends...or their belief in American liberty. David Weber and Jana Vardian were Hollywood's golden children; their fathers, successful screenwriters, mingled with stars and studio moguls. Then HUAC shattered their idyll, sending David and his parents into exile in Europe; Jana's father testified and soon became a famous director. Returning to Los Angeles as an adult to bury his father, David comes to the attention of FBI agent Brian McKenna, who is still eager for a big case. The somewhat jaded McKenna remains eager for a big case. Jana Vardian watched her father torture himself after testifying; David's return painfully reminds her that she once believed in love and loyalty. When people with ties to HUAC and to David's father begin turning up dead, long-buried secrets are dragged into the open. McKenna quickly tags David as the prime suspect, but in a world where special effects can turn a man into a beast, Hollywood's sheen of glamour cannot long mask its dark past. The term "hemophilia" describes hemorrhagic, or bleeding, disorders. The most common of these disorders is caused by a deficiency of Protein in the blood known as 'blood-clotting factor'. There needs to be at least 30% of the clotting factor for the blood to clot normally. Less than 30% results in the blood being slow to clot, causing bleeding for a longer time than someone with a regular amount of clotting factor. Internal bleeding, usually into joints and muscles, is the most common form of bleeding sustained by those suffering from hemophilia. This can result from an incident such as a fall, or even spontaneously, with no apparent cause.

During the era often commonly known as McCarthyism, many motion picture and television creators were blacklisted for supposed communist ties. There remained, however, a creative outlet that still welcomed these artists--theatre. This book explores the role theatre played during this turbulent period, covering the formation of the Theatre Guild (which birthed the Group Theatre), the short-lived Federal Theatre Project, and the investigations of the motion picture and television industries, and Broadway, by the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC). Appendices discuss McCarthy's role and present the memos of investigator Dolores Faconti Scotti, along with a list of prominent witnesses in HUAC's Broadway hearings, and reactions by artists' unions in the decades following the blacklist.

Believe me, if you mature and have ever program any digital device, you are, like me, looking forward to this brave new computing landscape with anticipation. However, if history is any guide to use, we in information security, and indeed every computing device user young and old, must brace themselves for a future full of problems. As we enter into this world of fast, small and concealable ubiquitous computing devices, we are entering fertile territory for dubious, mischievous, and malicious people. We need to be on guard because, as expected, help will be slow coming because ? rst, well trained and experienced personnel will still be dif? cult to get and those that will be found will likely be very expensive as the case is today.

But when the tide in the war on terror suddenly turns against the U.S., the president has no choice but to secretly bring Harvath back inside. Now, after three summers of record-setting heat across present-day Europe, one steadily melting Alpine glacier has given up an ancient secret--one with the potential to thrust civilization back into the Dark Ages. From Cyprus, London, and Paris, to Italy, Switzerland, and Saudi Arabia, Harvath must race against the clock to stop one of the greatest evils ever to face the United States. With his characteristic high-voltage action, sweeping international locales, and meticulous research, Brad Thor has created another supercharged novel that is sure to thrill.
